Yes, the hill is a natural feature - a remnant of an ancient river bottom. The elevation difference is rather pronounced in this area.

Come to think of it, yes. This hill is less than 1/2 mile from that hill of huge sandstone rocks where the Batsto river crosses Carranza Road.

Ha ha! I am eager to see that too, but as things currently stand, it ain't happenin'. I only have data for Burlington and Camden Counties - these are part of a larger "Delaware Valley" 1-meter lidar project. There was no 1-meter data for Atlantic or Ocean Counties a couple months ago. Since there's still plenty to do in Burlington and Camden, I haven't bothered to check again.

Now, while the Forks are in Burlington County, they are too close to the Atlantic County border where the data ends. My map tiles are 2 km x 2 km, and I won't publish a tile unless I have full coverage for it. Just checked, and unfortunately the tiles(s) with the Forks are incomplete.

There are lots of interesting places in Atlantic and Ocean Counties that will just have to wait for the USGS, and I was not able to find any schedules for when that might happen. Their priority seems to be capturing LIDAR for the many areas that still have nothing, as opposed to improving the quality of existing coverage.

While working on this, I noticed that the USGS 24k topo shows the town of Wading River in two different places. These are actually two separate quads (Green Bank and New Gretna).

Boyd why does the Wading River bridge not show on Lidar?

This is "bare earth" LIDAR. It sees right through man-made structures and shows the earth (or water) below. It also sees right through buildings, and it's the basement that you usually see. The metadata for this product is a bit lacking, but I think it is also "hydro-flattened", which means they use survey data for waterbody boundaries and make them flat at the mean surface elevation.

You will see these invisible bridges everywhere, and they look very strange when you view them as 3d aerials. This is Harrisville
