Fall on the Atsion Burn --- A PBX Trip

I wish I could have gone but it it was still good to see everyone. A before and after video would have been great. Everyone went charging into the woods together and slowly came out lol. I could tell it was a rough one.

DEP Announces Virtual Public Meeting to Launch Wharton State Forest Visitor and Vehicle Use Survey

It’s an old article but it gives you an idea of the Michigan permit system. It is like comparing apples and oranges since this system is for the entire state of Michigan compared to one state park in NJ...

DEP Announces Virtual Public Meeting to Launch Wharton State Forest Visitor and Vehicle Use Survey

Now I’m kind of curious. If you want to pay for a permit system to access Wharton how would you fill it out?

Illegal off-road vehicles continue to tear up N.J. forests. Advocates push for crackdown.

Yes this is way over the top. NJ.com must be on the PPA’s payroll. The “study” done 6 months ago was done by the PPA only in an effort to support their claims that the pines are being destroyed. It makes it seem like it’s an official study done by the state. The top picture is a pond that has...

DEP Announces Virtual Public Meeting to Launch Wharton State Forest Visitor and Vehicle Use Survey

I thought there may have been new deadfall placed there but I wasn’t sure. To my knowledge there was no new damage there either. They even mentioned how effective the railings were on the Fix Our Parks blog I saw. I prefer those railings to deadfall

How New Jersey Plans to Relocate Flooded ‘Ghost Forests’ Inland

I’ve seen several fawns laying in the middle of the roads especially near what puddles were left and one dead one. It’s been a rough year for this years fawns.

Wharton drivers better tell NJ now what they need and want

The DEP has tentatively decided on requiring owners of the street-legal vehicles (no ATVs) allowed in Wharton to register with the state and obtain a permit to drive in the pinelands. It is also creating an interactive map showing which dirt roads (some deeply sandy) are approved for driving...

DEP Announces Virtual Public Meeting to Launch Wharton State Forest Visitor and Vehicle Use Survey

This is just my opinion but a permit system whether it’s free (for now) or not is the only way to be able to have an enforceable map. When you get your permit you will also get a map. This whole interactive map is so they can take all the information and make sure most of the locations...
