    Fall/Winter Stone Searching 2021/2022

Been there, done that, even the bleeding hand. I certainly know how you felt.

    Penn State Forest Q

I don't know who WHIBCO is unless you're referring to DeMarco. He was the largest and Haines [PICC] was second. Now PICC [Haines] by default is the largest. NJ has a law that for every acre of wetlands [bogs] they must own and pay taxes on X amount of upland. I forget the ratio. In some...

Learned Something Interesting Today (Tundra Swans and Cranberry Bogs)

I wonder who gets the job of winding all that string up when there's a need to work the bog?

    Fall/Winter Stone Searching 2021/2022

They must have gone up within the last couple of days, a week at the most. With only 2 nails they're not going to be long-lived. Not that the usual 10+ make any difference.

An invasive species now has a new name to replace ethnic slur

A sign of the times showing folks have too much time on their hands to fret about such trivial things.

New Jersey officials: Be prepared for wildfires

As with everything today the site places a cookie on your computer or phone. What you need to do is erase that cookie and your good to go for another round or two until the new cookie stops you again. It's easy to do on the computer, I don't know how to do it on the phone.

    Atsion From Above

Not that long ago, maybe 2 years, there was a new member that just got his pilot license and was taking great shots of the Pines. I haven't seen him around in a while and was wondering if anyone knows why he left?

Missing persons search underway for couple who took ATVs into the Pine Barrens in Stafford

If factual we now hear that the atv was stuck? Guy has first-hand experience in the area and the field which should have been high and dry. I happened to attempt to find that field near the time Guy did but I somehow wandered off the woods road so never made it there. I did find a tree stand and...

Missing persons search underway for couple who took ATVs into the Pine Barrens in Stafford

Zeldon wasn't reported missing for a day or two and it had rained. From what we were told I can't help but think foul play was at work. This may be eerily similar but it hasn't rained yet to wash any scent away. I'm wondering what the shotgun was for. Shotgun deer is not in season yet. Maybe...

Missing persons search underway for couple who took ATVs into the Pine Barrens in Stafford

Guy, that would make sense since the atv trail leads to the road in and you found a hunters blind in the clearing. I'm sure the police would have concentrated on that area. I agree with Bob the dogs should have been able to pick up their scent. I think the public is not being told the whole...

    Fall Colors, A PBX Hike.

Glad to see and read that PBX is active again. Guy, don't pay attention to negative criticism about the photos, nobody is forcing them to look at them. This is about an actual hike, not a professional photoshoot!

    Operation Golden Nugget

Thanks for posting, that was enjoyable. Not in the same league, but make you wonder how and why old pickups are found in our woods. Stolen for parts back in the day?

Franklin Parker Preserve Dedication.....Then And Now

That's it. What's strange is last night with nothing interesting to watch on tv, I was watching the Weather channel. Low and behold they were showing the episode where nature is reclaiming the old abandoned auto factories in Detroit. Coincidence?

Franklin Parker Preserve Dedication.....Then And Now

I enjoy all your "then and now" photo's. Amazing how fast nature reclaims the land, and in a relatively short amount of time. History channel had a show, forget the exact name, was a simulated time lapse showing what if humans were not around anymore.

    Across Long Causeway And Beyond!

I'm sure many of us have seen similar in the Pines, I certainly have and wondered why. Is there a specific thread or threads where this was discussed?

    Sunday Morning Meander

The teeth biting incident is unusual and the outcome extreme to say the least. Did you consider trying a salvage yard for the rims? Yes, most vehicles are there as a result of accidents, but most yards have guarantees if the part is defective. Yes, tires do go bad from age, mostly from ozone and...

    Sunday Morning Meander

Any idea of how the rims get bent? Potholes? Strange the tire store said the rims were fine. I imagine they put the tire and rims on a spin balance machine? I would think that would show any bend?

    Around The Tulpehocken

Did you actually push through that barrier in the top photo? Wow, that's determination!
