    This is such a great photo of questing behavior of tick larvae. Would you object to me using it in an internal presentation at my job? I'll of course give you credit for it. It's just so icky that there are so many!

    Just letting my geek flag fly. :) Chiggers have 8 legs and have a larger and deeper body for their size. Larval ticks have 6 legs. (nymph and adult stages have 8 though).

    Those are, indeed, ticks. Tiny baby larvae of the Lone Star Tick, Amblyomma americanum.

    What a beautiful snake. Her eyes are cloudy and she looks like she's going to shed, too! Or do their eyes get cloudy when they give birth, too?

    I agree with Jessica. Southern Flannel Moth caterpillar. I also agree that it would be pretty bad to touch it! I will refrain from likening it to a certain POTUS candidate though. :) I love the S&H sign and would have taken it home with me! It's such a cool find. Also, your snake is beautiful...
