    fishing on labor day

I actually had to work today but before I did I got out and did some fishing. Wasn't having much luck till I switched to the right lure. Then they were hitting real strong. I only took one action photo since the floating sedge everywhere was making it difficult to get a good pose from the...

From The Plains To The River

Really fantastic photos, Guy!!!! Makes me want to wake up earlier, or stay up later which is usually the case. I also like your pics of John Denver on the batsto bridge. Kind of reminds me of Bob's pic of Jim Morrison at the Reeves bogs:rofl: Jeff

    Sunrise at 1/4 Mile Road

Be careful what you wish for....echoing the opinions of others here, I think we have to be REAL careful about suggesting policy changes on how the forest is managed. In the 2002 era when enforcement was increased there were many problems that infringed greatly on our ability to "get away from...

    Sunrise at 1/4 Mile Road

Dave, I think the critical issue concerns the very rare and sensitive environment back there. It has been severly "scared" but there is still much more damage that can occur. Wetland areas are the most ecologically important systems to the pinebarrens which is why there are such stringent laws...

    Notice

In case anyone is unaware: NJDMV is only testing for emmissions during inspections now. And motorcycles are no longer required to be inspected or to display registration stickers (still has to be registered though). I just hope everyone keeps up with their brake maintenance.

Firefighter, 18, charged with setting forest fire

This is great news that they caught him. There was a similar inncident back in my home town with a newbie firefighter starting fires. It is my understanding that many arsonists join fire companies. I heard that mandatory psych exams weed most of them out. but what do I know?

    Sunrise at 1/4 Mile Road

I read through a bunch of the comments. Maybe they don't care, but they should. This type of publicity puts pressure on the state to take action on the situation and that should alarm them. It seems as though they are sitting ducks back there if enforcement action was taken. What is most...

Would like to observe spiders of the Pine Barrens at night

Hi Chris, welcome to the forum. That is a very unique and, well....creepy hobby you have there. there are a (very) few specific areas that are gated off at night but the barrens are HUGE and completely accessable at night. Now, there are some rules regarding access at night, but they...

looking for small lake to fish

Yes, you can drive there on the dirt roads. A car could do it, as long as it hasn't rained. You have to approach from lakehurst road/530 from the south. Southboundry road is on fort dix property i think. Good luck. Jeff
