Try kingsnake.com.....make sure you purchase legal stuff and get the permits first, try not to by wild caughts as it is rewarding the dip sh_ts that poach(I know Steve some collection is legal in states, but you know were I stand on that stuff).

    Any good herping areas

Steve, in general I think people should avoid handling critters if they don't have to. Have I handled things yes but only for a certain purpose, to ID or sex. In general I don't handle snakes ever and the guys I herp with try not to unless necessary to figure out something. Not sure what you...

    Any good herping areas

I should note always put back the cover as it was found. Some people starting out looking for reptiles don't do this. Putting the cover back properly ensures that the moisture levels will not be destroyed along with the microhabitat. Also avoid handling reptiles and ampibs if you don't have...

    Dirt bikes!

Y-BUC- My previous post had nothing to do with the enduro's I apologize if thats the way it came out. As stated previously I have no issues with these Enduro events(see my previous posts in this thread). My recent post was from an area were the enduro didn't run at. This was a illegal dirt...

    Dirt bikes!

Jeff, in many cases your correct a legal car could have done the same thing. In the particular area which is very sugar sand a legal car would really have to slow down, it would be very reckless to go faster. The person which we saw hit it was moving very quick on a dirt bike, a speed which a...

    Dirt bikes!

Interesting story on the subject of dirt bikes. Bobbleton and I were out today in the pines and came across a freshly killed pine snake that had been hit by a illegal dirt bike. About five minutes later we saw the dirt biker and her two kids being ticketed by LE. Karma is a bitch I guess. If...

    Dirt bikes!

I think that sort of attitude above is why I have no issues with the enduro guys....always pretty respectful, personable people.....I'm not sterotyping the other ORV guys but my expieriences with them haven't been great.

    Dirt bikes!

This post was a good read up until the last several posts. Very well said by Scott and Largo. Mudboy, I've heard people bitch about different groups but its a little hard to justify someone tearing up a bog in a huge ass truck as having respect.....its just tough. All the other groups you...

    Dirt bikes!

I can't speak with any exact knowledge but I can take a educated guess Freerider. I would think the permitting system makes sure that the roads used are established, and possible don't contain T/E species habitat. I know one of the eduro comes dangerously close to a denning area of a certain...

    Dirt bikes!

I have no issues with the enduro guys.....from my expirience they are very respectful and have a understanding of the pines and how special it is. It seems like it isn't a wasteland for many of these guys like it is for some of the other ORV groups.

Philidelphia Inquirer article about rare Pine Barrens plants

While I appreciate the efforts of nj biologists, land conserv. org., pinelands commission, etc. I do find it quite amusing when others take credit from more behind the scenes volunteer types. I can think of a dozen or so things that I've done that others have taken the credit...
