    June in the Woods

Very Nice Bob. I always stop there for a break when crossing over it heading in the bamber direction. I followed it down towards Webb's mill only about 50 yards once. Great pics. I would love to follow it in the other direction sometime. Jeff

    Not to brag but...

I am not sure what that is. I will post a full pic of it. I have been told a number of times that it is extremely expensive (I didn't plant it) Someone told me I should sell it and make a bundle. The previous owner worked at a nursery and I have a bunch of cool shurbs/trees about. He...

Lyme Disease - Do You Have IT too?

Sorry about your chronic Lyme's. Ed, who occasionally posts, has it and has had chronic symptoms. Maybe he will chime in. I know he suffered quite a bit as a result of contracting the disease. Jeff

Stones, Monuments, Turtles, and a Snake

When I was a kid I was bushwacking through thick catbrier and came across an enormous ant mound, perhaps in excess of 2' and I could not believe it. Seemed like something from the amazon. I remember sacraficing ticks to mound and watching the ants descend on them. I guess they were allegheny...

Stones, Monuments, Turtles, and a Snake

Wow, that 6th pic is one HUGE stone. What is that? It does not look like sandstone. Why so freaking big do you think?

    High Stone Society Search

Nice report. Any idea why the society stone is so large? Just what they had available at the time? They would have transported this by way of horse and wagon I presume...or there were more sandstones lying about back then. Jeff

Have ticks always been a problem?

What were those things anyway? I remember being dissappointed when they did not look like how they were depicted on the outside of the box. Jeff

    Mountain Laurel

That is a good question, that I can unfortunitely not answer for you. Maybe Bob might have a theory. I have been meaning to get out to catus island. Is it a nice visit? How is the nature center there? Jeff

    Coyote puppies

I agree they seem curious when we do come into contact with them, but I don't know if that denotes a lack of fear of man. I say they seem to be maintaining that fear because they have not moved into populated areas in the pines (garbage cans, yards) that I know of. Hopefully that behavior...

    Coyote puppies

there is a coyote hunting season. Perhaps due to an abundant food supply (deer) the coyote populations in the pinebarrrens have never posed a threat to humans. They also seem to be maintaining there inherient fear of humans and are infrequently seen. I recall seeing a picture of Joe Albert...

    My that's a large spider

I was in Wharton awhile back in about knee deep water and saw a fishing spider. He was absolutely huge! He could run across the water nearly as fast as we can run on dry ground. I later identified him and learned of their fishing abilities and, while amazed, was not surprised given their size...

    Coyote puppies

I mostly heard howling from my yard. Occasionally I heard some yelps but not as a sizable group. A few years back I was fishing in Lebanon SF and heard them as a group in the manner you are referring to. It was very loud. I understand what you mean. It is an amazing sound to witness. Jeff
