    I'm back

Early this month my computer broke hard. Had modem problems as well. So I haven't been online in nearly a month now (i forgot what life was like before the internet) but I have a new computer now and I see I have a lot of catch up to do on reading some threads. Anyway, didn't want anyone to...

    Am I alone?

Actually my air went (bad circut breaker) a few days ago and it was brutal. It is now fixed. I grew up with out air cond. for the first 20 years of my life. I swear by it now. Come to think of it, until a few years ago I did live with just and air conditioner in my bedroom and studio...

    Playing Catch-up

That grave is very interesting, and the fact that it is so isolated adds a certain meloncholy. It makes you wonder who is rested there. Sure beats a crowded cemetary though. I have often thought it would be nice to be buried in pine barrens. Of course, the being dead part makes it a little...

    Teen tragedy hits S.J. again

This is hard to read...so tragic. I feel bad for the 18 year old also who will have to live with this for the rest of his life. We all did stupid things when we were eighteen but most of us were lucky enough not to have killed anyone. I think luck and chance have alot to do with it. Jeff

    boating

Just to clarify, I think German meant the lower portions of the Wading and Mullica. Motorboats would not be appropriate, or legal, on the upper portions. Good luck. Jeff

    Fishing help

Mike, I usually don't go for cats specifically but I'll give you some places I've caught them. 1)atsion lake (near the shoreline at dusk)2) Presidental lake near the bridge (not route 70), they drained the lake but there might still be water at the bridge in the development. It is/was a...

Article on the homeless in the Pine Barrens

Having had lived on the outskirts of browns mills for 10 years, I am well aware of the homeless in the woods. They stayed close to lakehurst road mostly. I was at the christain care center the day after the shooting. I was driving in to donate clothes and stuff and the police were moving into...

    Wharton Wheeling

I crossed that one on my motorcycle once. a honda xr400. But I took to the side as much as possible (which was still deep and swampy). I crossed along the side to the left of the first pic of the whale pond. I drained my crankcase once I got home. Jeff

    Wharton Wheeling

Absolutely, Just two other things: 1)I have had bad luck with chinese made come alongs. I actually use an old american made engine hoist. It is very high quality. 2)When ever you attempt questionable terrian, make sure there is a good sized tree nearby that you can use to winch yourself...

    Wharton Wheeling

James, Like Ben said, it is a 4x4 road but do-able for you now. I've taken that road many times without getting stuck. there are washouts. try to take the go arounds, but if you go straight through try to straddle where the ruts would normally be (as if you drove straight through) the bottom...

    Wharton Wheeling

Certain area warrent 4 wheel drive more than others. Venturing into the great swamp is usually a good spot to go into 4x4 and leave it there. Also, I agree, it is a good idea to engage 4x4 from time to time. Jeff

Nice ride Jim!! Like everyone else, I agree that 4 hi is the way to go. If you are in 2wd make sure you switch into 4 hi before you attempt a questionable bit of ground. I only use 4 lo when pulling people out. Jeff
