    "Habitat--Forming"

I swear when I was a kid every summer I remember wildfires in the pine barrens. My grandparents live in leisuretowne(did) and always remember seeing it on the news. I can't remember the last time I heard about fires in the barrens, but when I was a kid I swear it was happening all the time.

    Police: Bobcat seen in Evesham

what a joke it is probably a house cat. Also bobcat aren't really big enough to hunt dear. They go after small game, rabbits, squirells, etc. I'm suprised anyone in kings grant even knew what a bobcat was.

    season is about done

Snakehunter as far as the paint freezing he will be ok. In fact paints have been known to completely freeze in the winter like wood frogs...especially hatchlings. They simple thaw out in the spring. Turtles are phenomenally hardy and can withstand really adverse conditions. For the most part...

I bet today there is lots of things out, turtles are still out on warm days and will continue to do so as long as the winter is mild. I saw a black rat yesterday basking. And if you look way back on this forum you will see I found a yearling pine on october 30th last year. All turtles will be...

    Corzine rejects bear hunt

Badfish I totally agree with you it makes me so angry when I hear people who say I want to move away from all the congestation. I enjoy the outdoors and want to be by nature. And then the second nature enters their property they are freaking out. There are risk rewards with everything in...

    Jane Wyatt, NJ Actress, R.I.P.

How do you know she didn't effect anyone, quite honestly I use to watch father knows best with my grandparents on nickelodeon when I was real young. When I heard about her death I did not know who she was, but I knew the show and it therefore brought back memories of my grandparents. Death...

    getting closer

I saw a pine snake on october 18th last year. It was a hatchling and was getting the little bit of sun at the warmest time of the day. You can still find things out now but you have to be both lucky and good. I find that if there are a few cool days in a row, and then you get a warm up in the...

Dave, if you look at the last otter pic and the first fox, you can see they are almost the same length. The otters are almost as long as the fox. I thought fox because of its size. While I know they are not here it looks like pictures I have seen of kit foxes. The tail really threw me off...

Boyd it is a moultrie spy camera. It was pricey about 180. But it is 4 megapixel. And it came with the battery, and solar panel for the field, and a charger. Besides that it is your basic spy cam, holds 100 pics but you can buy additional memory, I think 16 mb are built in. It takes time...

I wasn't sure if they were otters because i couldn't tell the size. But they are clearly as long as the yote, which means otter. Plus all other signs point to an otter possibly with her young, they have the light bib otters have also.

New terrestrial leetch found in south jersey

Interesting article, I find it discomforting they are offering a $20 dollar reward for each leetch captured. Seems irresponsible to have the average joe digging through sphagnum bogs searching for leaches, most likely confusing them with salamanders...
