    Purchase A & B Stone, and a Canal

Very interesting! Great observations Guy. Unfortunitely I could not access the photo links in the first post of this thread. I seem to be the only one experiencing this problem though. Count me in on a hike or kayak to the canal. Jeff

This heat should raise some alarms

My understanding of the general consensus on global warming in the scientific community is the same as Mark observed. Climatic trends spaning months or a few years are not indictive of anything. I was also under the impression that global warming was accepted as fact by the vast majority...

    The Batsto and Mullica

Everything I have read also indicates that indians were primarily transiant through the pines barrens (As it should, we are all reading the same books). However, keep in mind that this site is primarily concerned with estuaries. It would not surprise me if the great bay, barneget bay and all...

    The Batsto and Mullica

I found this while surfing the net and found it interesting. Most of it will be common knowledge to alot of people here on the site but it might be new information for some. One thing that surprised me is that they located 1000 known sites of pre-historical communities in the pine barrens. I...

    Please help me out

I remember when you used to post often, Skullcherrys. All the talk of pickup trucks and heavy metal had me thinking that you were a boy. Clearly I was mistaken. I guess I shouldn't give in to stereo types. Very cool truck by the way! Sorry that I saw this post too late to vote. Jeff

A PBX Hike, The Warren Grove Wildfire 6 Months Later

Two weak chigger bites. I might have gotten them after the hike though. It is pretty amazing that we did about 7 miles in thick woods with few bites and I went 15' into the woods behind my house and had 200-400 on me. Go figure. No bites from them though, due to permithrin, fast reflexes, and...

A PBX Hike, The Warren Grove Wildfire 6 Months Later

I have that field guide as well. It is great isn't it. I have worn out my copy. I've spoken with Howard Boyd on a few occasions and he is the real deal. Anyway, that is interesting information. I'll have to look up a good crayfish receipe.:v:

A PBX Hike, The Warren Grove Wildfire 6 Months Later

Considering how much time I have spent fishing in the pinebarrens without seeing one, I would say they are. However, I mostly fish waters far less clear than this creek. On the other hand, I have taking inventory of streams with a siene during droughts and have not come up with a crayfish...

A PBX Hike, The Warren Grove Wildfire 6 Months Later

What a great hike! All the while I think we were constantly reminded of how difficult the hike would have been if not for the fire. Here are some photos: One can't help but to ask themselves, "what's over the hill" when looking at a road like this Guy got a little tired...

    Dead deer in the Mullica

They might be appearing near the river because the virus has a secondary effect of thrist on the animal, or it is instinctual for deer to seek water to drink when they are sick (just a guess) Jeff
