Bear Swamp is a popular name for swamps it would seem. There is also a Bear Swamp down near Turkey Point in S. Jersey and I believe there is on in N.Jersey too. Steve

That was an old gravel pit. Back in the mid 70's some friends and I went there to swim. There was a very high ridge that we would run and jump off of. You had to jump pretty far as it was a slope. One of my friends lost his footing just before the jump and ended up sliding down the gravel face...
