    Quick Atsion Trip

Pretty cool. That bike looks like a Ural. As for the front-end-loader, looks like they might have been fixing up the roads from the recent storms. Although the road maintenance is better than none, I hate how they always grade from the center out creating a huge ditch for the water to run in.

    Atlantic Brick Manufacturing Company

Sorry, I was talking about the kilns. I'm guessing the stacks would have eventually fell, but they looked to be in pretty good shape. The kilns were really bad.

How the Ice Age Shaped South Jersey’s Landscape

Spung-man, I appologize, I am going to be unable to attend this lecture. The guy coming to install our carpet changed the install day from Friday to Thurs. I will keep my ears open for future lecutres.

    Atlantic Brick Manufacturing Company

Stacks Yeah, a friend just told me about that. It really sucks, but like what's been said, nobody has any money for preservation right now. I think they should have just put a fence around it with a sign explaining it's history like so many other sites we have, but I'm sure even that, would...

    Hiking the Great Swamp Again

Hey guy, I was just checking out the "road" that runs through the middle of this swampy area. It looked like it had a ton of puddles in it in the satellite photos, and I'm sure it's a lot more wet now, but is it ever passable? It just seemed weird to me that a road would ever even be put through...

    Cleanups and camping

Clean-up Hey Gipsie, I thought I was going to be able to make it, but my plans are jammed for this weekend. I'm in the middle of changing the flooring in my house to try and sell it and things have been way too hectic. I've been to a couple of other areas that are in desperate need of cleaning...

    Popcorn Park Zoo

That is a very neat zoo. When I was there in Jan, it looked like they had to replace some roofs that caved in from the snow. I'm sure Feb wasn't any nicer to that place. It was a great time though.

How the Ice Age Shaped South Jersey’s Landscape

Sounds very interesting. I missed the first, but I just wrote down the second lecture. I'll try and attend.

    Water Conditions

It's been quite a while since the rains and the flood levels in areas are still quite surprising. I've checked and re-checked several areas and the water table is not moving anywhere right now. I'm guessing this warm weather with have to evaporate a lot of it, but it's supposed to rain again on...

    Curly Fern Enduro Today 3-28-10

Thanks for the heads up. I heard about it on advrider too so I kept my distance from Wharton. Went through Mizpah on the old RR line instead.

    Ghosts in the Hollow

A little bit of an update with this town - the state is officially kicking everyone out to get underway with the cleanup and elimination of the fire. After all the unsuccessful efforts to put the fire out under the ground, it was determined the best way to get rid of the hazard would be to strip...

    More Eco Terrorism?

Someone posted a link to this thread on ADVrider.com warning the dual sporters. It is crazy, and what a waste of time for whoever did it - although I'm sure whoever it is thinks there time was justified. Many years ago a friend of mine hit a random steel cable across a road and it broke some...

    Flooded

Flooding Yeah, this years rain and snow has really made some wet woods. It is incredible to see just how flooded everything really is. I had a day off from work two mondays ago and went out after the storm. The photos I took can be found here...

    Trash & More Trash

Earthday cleanup sounds good, but I'm probably going to be working on the 22nd (thursday). I should be able to do something on the 24th or 25th though. I have a pickup truck and a 4X8 trailer. I'm down for wherever.

    Trash & More Trash

Not really sure if this is the right location for this - but if it isn't, the mods can put it where they see fit. Took a ride through the Makepeace Lake WMA yesterday and noticed someone dumped a pickup load of religious books every 40 feet for about 1/4 -1/2 mile. There's so many it's...

Railroad tracks from Woodmansie to Lakehurst

As too the Woodsmansie section - it wouldn't be too bad, but still very costly. At least there's not too many bridges, just a bunch of small pipe culverts. The amount of new ties, new crossing signals, and heavier rail to replace that old 90 lb. that I believe is still in there would be the...

    Black Horse Pike

Thanks for all that info Spungman! Very informative! It's kind of neat to see how roads have evolved by seeing where sections have joined in and split off over the years. Rt. 73 has a couple neat sections where it's been re-routed also due to RR's and new interchanges. Neat stuff.

    Oh Black Water

Wow, that is some serious water Redneck350. I ride that dirt road all the time and I've never seen it pooled like that. There's two bridges on Sandy Causeway Rd. where the road you were on from Parkdale to joins in. I'm guessing they were pretty flooded too huh? I know sometimes if I see the...

    Paranormal State

Wow, thank goodness we'll finally know if there's a Jersey Devil or not. As for the gas, I guess that's the part of street smarts that wasn't covered with the book smarts.

    John deere junket

George, looks like you guys had a great time. This weekend should hand you some real crazy sledding weather! Kind of funny, but my dad had a tractor exactly like that when I was really young and we used to do the exact same thing. You didn't happen to get it from a guy in Mullica around 1991 did...
