Here on Long Island we have the Greenbelt organization, I go on some of their hikes. http://www.hike-ligreenbelt.com/page/page/952893.htm Most of the time though you're on your own with transportation, but the hikes are free.

How much did everyone get? I got about 2 inches, the roads are real slippery out there. Too bad its changing to rain and will be washed away tomorrow, because it'd be nice to see some snowy scenes in the pines.

I admit I do. Knowing the variety of stars in the galaxy, and the universe, can lead to many combinations of life, some intelligent, out there. Often the media paints the aliens, especially the greys, in a bad light. The greys intrigue me, you certainly cant get their eyes out of your head...

Was it a middle ear infection? Those are the worst! I get them often after a cold. So I do my best to avoid getting sick. Avoiding coughers, crowds,etc. The fluid in the ear transmits the pulse sound, it is misery. I hope you feel better soon!

The main places I want to see first is Apple Pie Hill and Forked River Mountains, on a nice clear day. From the photos I've seen of FRM reminds me of the dwarf pine plains in Westhampton but much more piney.

I agree with GermanG on this one, the lands I mention do not pose a threat to security. The BNL land I mention isn't even the lab itself, it's completely wooded property bounded by a high tension power line on the west and a dirt road on the east that is already used by hunters, equestrians, and...

The Birds Eye View is definately way better than Google Earth, it's much easier to find the dim trails and even make out the trees themselves.
