Discovery of artifacts halts road work in Franklin

http://www.app.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080830/NEWS/80830014 Just reading the comments, it's amazing to see the contempt that people in New Jersey have for their own history. The attitudes of the common New Jerseyan make me sick. All they care about are taxes and how close they are...

    Map Loading Problem

I saw that and thought "oh no I have to fix something." I am happy it's not broken on my end. I am incredibly lazy though. There's a couple of things I want to do to NJPB Maps but am just too lazy to sit down and do them. :( Anybody here a Javascript programmer? Want to inherit some code?

Two Wheelin In The Pines ?

When I had my old Wrangler I was able to go nearly everywhere in 2WD, and I never worried about getting stuck. Now, with my whiz bang super duper four door Wrangler, I need to be in 4WD to get around. Just last weekend I was out with Gabe on the road that goes behind Batsto Lake on the Pleasant...

    Seeing Grace

There are companies out there that specialize in reproduction "wavy glass" for the proper refurbishment of old windows. Nice pics, and an interesting view from the inside. I'm pretty sure I know which church that is. I'd love to get a look inside the Brookville chapel.

A few questions about a Carranza Memorial to Apple Pie Hill hike

Spray your feet before you put your socks on. Then put your socks on, and spray them. Then put your shoes on and spray your ankles and shoes. That should discourage the chiggers. You may still get some bites, but not too bad. I've managed to not be eaten alive like I have been in previous...

    Trip to Beaver Bog

Guy -- Bob's really starting to rub off on you. You're identifying flowers and giving the Latin names as well. Nice photos. I don't usually see much wildlife when I go out.

Cranberry grower, Pinelands proponent Thomas Darlington dies

That's a damn shame. :( I'll never forget looking for the canal near Lower Mill with him, and visiting the roadbed of the Kinkora Railroad. He was sharp as a tack and had plenty of stories to share. I am honored to have been able to spend the day with him.

    New Kayak

My first trip on the Oswego was a disaster. I did not have an easy time with the kayak and fell behind. Fortunately I seem to be doing much better at it now. I can really blaze a trail with Gabe's kayak.

Batsto and Atsion: A Quick Saturday Adventure

Laura, Dana and myself all popped down to Batsto today. We stopped at Buzby's for lunch (decent, but limited menu) and then made our way to Batsto. Again, the hit of the day for Dana was the nature center at Batsto, where her friends the turtles put on quite a show. We also watched the frogs...
