Here's a small then & now. I had to watch my daughter all day, so I took the day off of work and went to Allaire State Park. I took a bunch of photos, but here's some then and now's that people might like.
I also got a small case of chiggers!!! They mow all of the grass there. Nobody is safe...

The boardwalk was constructed to keep people out of the bog. People were walking in the bog and disturbing the wildlife.
I'm not sure if Greenwood WMA extends to that side of 539. It could be part of the Forked River Mountain Preserve.
Bob may be able to fill in more details than I can, but I think those growths on the trees are caused by a virus. The cedars get it really bad - their growths splinter the trunks and it really looks disgusting.
I need to see the mansion for myself. The horrific cinderblock wall on the side seems to be gone, which is nice. The "new" porch looks alright -- I think it's historically correct.
I'm happy to see the crap siding gone, although I think the original siding on the building was clapboard.

The central air works great in my house, although a desk fan makes my living room (where my computer desk is) more comfortable.
Some of my system (the air handler) is probably 20 years old. My compressor and condenser is only 4.
Not only that, but you asked me and I told you that I didn't know how to get there, since I've never found it.
Had I known how to get there I would have probably given you a better answer than I did.
Did the cemetery you see have the metal crosses like the ones that are in Guy's photo?
If yes: You were at Hollow Field Cemetary, a/k/a the Bamber Pet Cemetary
If no: You were at some place else that we might not know about
While not "Weird NJ", Ryan Stowinski's book "Wandering Around South Jersey" has a lot of good spots that you should be able to hit in a day trip.
