    No, I"m sorry, I should have been clear. I did not mean the moth mullein was not pinelands, I meant all that green ground cover at the base of the broken tree is not really pines stuff.

    I really wish there was an accurate, interactive "fire history" map created that would be updated as soon as a fire was declared extinguished. It's always interesting to see what plants pop up after the fire.

    According to Howard Boyd, deer flies are Chrysops delicatulus, and my money says they are also called pine flies locally. I don't know the strawberry fly. I know the deer fly unfortunately. :(
