Bunch of new outdoor products from Garmin

Please don't think I was knocking anyone for making a choice to buy it. I was only comparing prices. I'd like to have one too, and if I had enough money to just do it right now, I wouldn't think about it too much, I'd just do it. Like when I bought my Dell setup for $1,700. Doggone it...I wanted...

Dr. Smith's Neutral Water Health Resort

..."You were to wade in this water for a while, and then go into this little 16-sided building with lots of windows and sit in the sun." I do this frequently, but don't go into a building. I just sit in the sun. I swear that this really is the fountain of youth!

    4 Rattlesnakes Along a Road

Ya know, it's funny you say that. I spent many years living in Hampton Lakes and Presidential Lakes in the 60's and 70's. I don't remember them at all. The worse case I ever got was in Maryland in 1980, and then the second worse was in 1981 (?) when I was exploring Welll's Mills. There was a big...

Bunch of new outdoor products from Garmin

To put it in perspective, I bought a brand new 22 inch self-propelled lawnmower today...a Toro. I'd have to throw in an ADDITIONAL $230 to buy that Montana.

    'Lost' rainbow toad rediscovered

That is very cool. I note that he is sitting on sphagnum moss....they must have some depressions up higher. By the way, this is turning out to be a pretty neat site about our Jersey wildlife: http://wildnewjersey.tv/

    Lazy river paddle

Have the rains improved the run down the Oswego? I have a friend I want to go with, but I need another party to join us with a truck or vehicle to lift my canoe back to start. I'd like to do it maybe next friday. .

Yes, he is quite the Guy. He is singing my signature.

    Lazy river paddle

What, Gabe did not dive down into the depths for you? He is famous for that, kind of like the horse at Steel Pier (for those who remember).

Boyd's Map of the Pines beta available

Boyd, you may find this hard to believe, but it could be a blank screen (or all green) for all I care. I don't even own a working GPS right now. When it was working, I honestly never analyzed the terrain symbols. I have the waypoints in, and I just watch the tracking arrow. Before a trip I'll...

Boyd's Map of the Pines beta available

Thanks for the show! It seals the deal for me. Two foot is ridiculous, 5 foot is just novel, and 10 foot makes the most sense in my opinion. It quickly helps the eye separate the true high areas from the surrounding area.

Boyd's Map of the Pines beta available

Boyd, yes, I think 5 is better. And yes, the 2' intervals are just noise. Regarding the wetlands, you may have a point, but that is not a good example due to the split in the map. Let me pick a spot for better analysis that I know....maybe tonite.

Boyd's Map of the Pines beta available

Boyd, I think that no, the 2 foot interval would not be useful. I notice that it calls a lot more land swamp, and that may cause uneeded confusion. Also, if you look at the contour lines in the upper one, the miniscule change in elevation is so far apart, that you would not even notice it, or...
