    Pigs in Greenwood......

We (Forked River Mountain Coalition) put the dumpster there and Kerry convinced someone to pick it up. I think it was fish and game. We will be topping it off tomorrow with other stuff from the same area.

    Forked River Mountain Annual Cleanup

No sweat my Pine Barren Brother. Your help in scouting and mapping out these locations with me in March was invaluable. Time with your children is precious. As I look back, those days with my children were the happiest times of my life. Feel free to come up on the mountain anyway for hot dogs...

    Forked River Mountain Annual Cleanup

Next Sunday, on 4/19, the cleanup will target the area the behind Bamber locally known as old Carusoville. There are two other areas targeted as well. We seem to have enough hands this year, as a boys academy is coming to help with 26 live souls. However, Guy is coming with Jessica and Ben...

    One Space, Many Places

Merce Ridgeway is your cousin? Did you know Mrs. Fischer (maiden name Ridgeway) then? Called her "Sis". She lived next door to me for 20 years. I beleive Merce was her brother. I also know Harry, Bud, and (?) Ridgeway. They live in Bamber. This is the father, I believe of the man you know? I've...

    Beer (again)

Oh yes....very, very good! I give you mucho credit Consuela. Now I'm going to get a lot tougher! PS: I knew the "M" should have been hidden, but I had to give you some scrap of info. The bottle alone would have caused you to guess at least, what, 8 times?

    Pine Barren Memories

Yes, in fact I was good friends with Paul Volshell. Ever here of him? And Frankie Defranco's mom was Japanese, and I went out with his sister once. And if I get my yearbook out I can pick out a couple others.

    Pine Barren Memories

I came back on a troop ship, it was awful. Stunk like diesel fuel the whole time. The USS Upshur or something like that. It took days, and days, and days. Came into New York Harbor. The streets of NY were great in those days--everyone going about thier business and having fun bantering back and...

    Pine Barren Memories

This is really wild. We went to the Oktoberfest in Munich in 1964. Might have seen each other. Tom, I think though, that you are about 4 years younger than me. I am 55. My feet were like leather in Presidential Lakes. I stubbed my toe on little stumps in the path to the beach very often. Do...

    Dirt bikes!

Jeff, that is a blanket statement that requires definition and explanation, otherwise it seems to suggest that hikers and hunters do not clean the woods. Do you mean "work days" solely created by the off-road community? If so, then naturally it is they who will show up.

    Devious, Bear Swamp, Two Sawmills

I was thinking of surveying practices yesterday. I put up a fence 8 years ago at the end of my vacant lot next door. I knew where my marker was on my developed property, so I used a 100 foot tape to mark the end of the vacant lot. There was no marker around, so I drove a pipe in the ground. I...

    night of the leopards

Al, I don't like anchovies either. But I love liver and onions smothered in ketchup. And I like black olives. I do eat sardines too. I was on a kick in 2007. I had at least one can of sardines a week. They were $1.25 to $1.50 a can. They zoomed up to $3.90 these days.
