    Pine Barren Memories

We have a lot in common Tom. You are an army brat too? My parents paid $13,997 or so for our brand new bi-level in 1965 in PL. Is Timmy finally looking older?

    Pine Barren Memories

Very interesting Tom, I see we had common things going on! I would guess you were early 70's? Fishing at the dam on 530, down where the spillway pools up? Was it mostly little bullhead catfish? Was that Timmy Todd's father?

    Pine Barren Memories

You remembered, and you remembered everything! I left him off because I did not think it would mean anything the way it was posted..."You remember Branch - the trash collector". His first name might have been Carleton, which is the way I remember him. I disagree with Stu, no bag can be that...

    Pine Barren Memories

I grew up in Presidential Lakes in the 60's. Some of us have been passing around a memories thread. I thought you might find some of these comments interesting, and if you lived at that time in the pines at a Lake Community, it may bring back some memories. You grew up in Presidential Lakes if...

A short paddle and a discovery!

It was nice meeting you and your friends Kevin. It was a stunning day to be out. I was looking for anything blooming. I have come to the realization that flowering comes very slowly to the Pines.

Good one, and the song goes along with the brew! You and I share musical tastes.

    Beer (again)

Here you go Scott. Proof that I don't always drink from screw caps. This one is really delicious with a kick that promises a long deep sleep. Maybe some alka-seltzer in the AM.

    Beer (again)

The color of this tasty brew reminds me of certain sections of the wonderful East Branch of the Wading River. This brewmaster is gaining quite a bit of favor with me. Three out of three suit my taste. Sure, it does not have a fancy yuppie name like Dog head (or fish head or whatever), but it is...

    Tick today

I'll take ten chiggers to one gripping tick. A tick bite stays with me for six weeks. I think I had lymes in 1980's when it was relatively unknown, but am now immune and / or used to it. Seriously. Either that or it will catch up to me someday.

    Dirt bikes!

Hmmm...sounds just like me and you. Oooops, forgot one: April 1: Largo doing nothing but walk about gentleman like. Sheriff took him in for impersonating a gentleman.

    Dirt bikes!

Right. From "Iron in the Pines" Aug 15; Jacob Williamson done little work this day. Slept most of the afternoon on the shop bench. Jan 29: Terrence Toole made a clandestine retreat from the Chopping. Left his ax, blankets, etc. Jul 28: Molders all agreed to quit work and went to the...

    Gun clubs? or shooting ranges?

If I were to get a handgun permit, and then bought a gun out of state, how would I legally bring it home?

    Some Recent Visits

Guy, I am (as you might guess) more intrigued by that sedge in front of the tall stone (the green vegetation in the close up--it really is a lovely habit of growth). That may have a flowering spike around the month of June, and achenes later, perhaps by mid July. If you ever pass that way again...
