    I Wuz Here

Good bit of sleuthing there Tom. I'll drop a buck for you. Here is a consolation prize for Guy. I know he likes turtles, and I found this one on the way out today.

Yes you do! And if you win, I'll only put 70 cents in the can now. PS: Very strong clue in the last photo.

    I Wuz Here

Sometimes a photo of something seen before invokes a memory deep in our brain cells but we cannot quite place the location where we saw it. I was out this morning trying to beat the rain. I'm going to post a few photos. Wawa often has charity/donation containers for worthy causes. I'll drop...

    The Economy

Tom, it crossed my mind. But when I think of it I feel greedy, and it seems futile, as how long would I last on that, maybe 60 days? Here is the big question for you--did you already put this plan into place at your house?

    bay days

Neat area. I want to do more coastal plant investigation here. Problem is that these areas can be brutal in the summer.

The Lost Causeways of the Skit Branch

Very cool Jeff. I wonder if slag was just a popular building material for causeways in those days, and that was just a bridge to get somewhere, or a sawmill. I'll bet you can see the road on some of the older maps on this site. Nice photos of beautiful country. I'll have to explore it some day.

    Adirondack High Peaks

You are welcome. Go for it! If you are in the area the next Columbus day in 2009, I just might be there. We'll go for Algonquin! PS: I kept bugging my brother-in-law to climb Old Rag with me, but we never got round-to-it. He lived near Culpepper or Madison.

    Adirondack High Peaks

Grendel, while we were on our way up, a young guy (maybe 22?) in a skin tight performance outfit and a heart moniter strapped to his arm "JOGGED" past us on the way up. It was an incredible sight to see, him hopping up, from rock to rock. His legs were long and extremely muscular, and he was...

    Adirondack High Peaks

No, that was early in the morning on Sunday, getting ready to climb. Although the High Peaks area is over 300,000 acres in size, with 33 peaks over 4,000 feet, the parking areas are pitifully small. On a weekend such as that one, with every climber for 200 miles away wanting to get out there...
