I joined to ask a question, which was answered. I lurked here for other information for quite a while. Please delete this profile or account as I have no interest in actually engaging with the like of you people any longer.

No need to take it personal. I was just telling you as I see it.

It is still burning out there in the Quaker Bridge area. In fact, one area was really smoking but we did not go to it. Anyway, we explored a few dunes and spent a short time in the Parker Preserve before heading home a little earlier today. A short video below.

The dunes.

Great report Guy. Yeah, the snake fatalities and I’m sure many turtles, is always a sad fact. Not everybody wins in a forest fire though we often emphasize the benefits. Nesting birds are also so vulnerable.

In my original post I mentioned I found a large stone while exploring the Mine Spung Branch and today Jessica and I went back to dig around it. Unfortuantly, it is not large at all and almost for sure not a property stone, just a basic piece of sandstone.

At Tuckerton road along the JCRR we can see that someone is driving back to Quarter Mile.

And while at Quarter Mile proper we see they were there.

By 9AM we were sweating so bad we headed cross county to our vehicle and headed home. Jessica's heart rate was in the low 160s.

Sweating pretty bad :)

Jess and I have been busy and have been behind in visiting a few places so today we knocked a few off our list. We visited the Batsto trestle that Old Halfway showed us in a few posts above this one. It is interesting to note that is still burning quite well over a month later. You can see that is my video below.

A few photos first.

It would have been impressive to watch this burn.

And this was a surprise. Not right at the bridge but slightly further in the woods, I found this just partially sticking out of the pine needles. I have to assume this may have been used in the construction of the bridge. It is deep in the ground for sure.

Bonus: We visited the Death Camas today and it appears the plant grew again this year but was eaten off or broken off. There was nothing to see this year. However, nearby we found a white orchid that we have never viewed there in all of the years of visiting. And earlier in the morning we also saw this. It was dark in the woods were it is located so without a tripod I had to struggle to get a semi decent photograph.
