Pines; Bamber area
I was out there looking for him 3 weeks ago. One area is particularly dense. I took this photo standing up with my arms raised as high as I could get them. The inkberry was about 10 feet high. We need a good, hot fire next spring to help reveal.

That inkberry is a problem. I found an area they searched and could see where the searchers had pushed through it, but if he was 10 feet away in the inkberry they and myself would have walked right past him.

I stopped searching because the hunters were gearing up and I am sure they don't want people walking around. Once the main season is over I will start again.

My name is Debbie Zeldin and I'm the daughter in law of the missing NJ man, Barnett Zeldin. The family and a few friends have been searching the woods every day. You're right, we aren't really knowledgable of the area and/or qualified to lead a search. But, we refuse to stand by and do nothing when the NJSP aren't out there searching! We have been notified that the NJSP will be out there searching again on Sunday. Some of you who know the area and have mentioned wanting to help search. If you are serious about helping, please call me at (480) 570-0722. Barry's son Glenn and I are out from AZ and his daughter April and her husband Dave are here from Kentucky helping to search. Please help us!!

I'm so sorry your FIL has not been found yet. I thought for sure he would be found quickly.
You may want to consider making a FB page for him; I'm on another missing person's case WV Missing Brian Chris Sexton (I'm not able to leave a link)Have a look at what we've been doing. There is also a FB group run by his family. If you need help; send a PM to Brian's FB page. There are 2 of us running it; I've been leaving his links all over FB; missing sites; search and rescue; as well as local; county & state sites. The other advocate has been writing letters daily to talk shows; government and anyone else she can think of. We have notes set up with all of the info; shouldn't be too hard for you guys to do the same thing; but also hit hunting sites & FB pages.

My heart goes out to your family.

Did anyone put a leash on his dog to have her try to find her master?

When was the last time state police were out?

Hunter Still Missing as Hunting Season Approaches
On Monday, police announced that their investigation into Zeldin's disappearance "remains active." Police advise hunters to be attentive while walking in the area where Zeldin went missing. They advise anyone to immediately contact police if they notice something suspicious. They also remind all hunters to carry their cell phones and utilize GPS applications.

It was not the hunter.

EAGLESWOOD — A man’s death has been labeled suspicious after a body was found in the Stafford Forge State Forest this week, and police are asking for the public’s help in identifying him, State Police said Friday.
State troopers from Tuckerton Station are investigating the suspicious death of the unidentified man after a body was found at midday Thursday by two people walking a dog, according to State Police Lt. Steve Jones.
There were no obvious signs of trauma to the body, and an autopsy was performed Thursday, but the cause and manner of death have not yet been determined, Jones said.
The man had no identification, Jones said.
The Toms River Police Department today assisted the investigation by creating a sketch of the man for distribution, Jones said.
The dead man is described as between 5 feet, 5 inches to 5 feet, 8 inches tall, weighing between 130 and 165 pounds. The man is believed to be Hispanic and may be between the ages of 50 to 60.
The investigation is being assisted by Troop C Criminal Investigation Office, State Police Major Crimes Unit, and the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office.
State Police said the body was found at 12:55 p.m. Thursday.
Jones said the body was not that of a hunter missing since October in the Warren Grove area.
Anyone with information should call Detective Sgt. Simonson at Tuckerton State Police Station at 609-296-3132.

They also remind all hunters to carry their cell phones and utilize GPS applications.

Do cell phones work in there? They didn't used to.

If it wasn't for my old Garmin 2 GPS (no map) - and the battery was almost dead! - I would have never found that rental car that got bogged down in the sand in one of the most remote parts of the Barrens, oh about 13 or 14 years ago I guess it was, and the rental car company would have made me pay for it - and the rental agreement said you can't drive off paved roads...

Another man who disappeared in woods I used to frequent when I lived back east- but very different circumstances - the killer who was thought to be hiding in Bear Mountain-Harriman Park last year, I don't think they ever found him, did they?

One of the reason that not much is happening with searching is that it is hunting season and that area has private property issues. I stopped looking because I was constantly on every game camera known to man. Plus, after looking the area over they covered the close proximity quite well.

I'm sorry that I haven't been on here and updated all of you. There have been no new leads, no clues, nothing. The NJSP were considering looking at foul play last I heard. They stopped searching due to hunting season. I wish I had more info. Thank you all for your care and concerns for Barry and my family.

Pestletown, N.J.
This Saturday, March 15, will mark the end of coyote and fox firearm seasons as well as the trapping seasons.
The next firearm season will be wild turkey which will run from April 21 to May 23.
If the NJSP were waiting for a break in the hunting seasons, this will present a 5 week window after Saturday.

Debbie; thank you for updating. I do not understand foul play; really hope they explain it. His NamUs page has not been updated to include foul play. Have they asked your MIL to contact his dentist for records? I see there is no dental charting in his NamUs profile; but there is DNA. Status: Dental information / charting is currently not available

How does the family feel about a FB page? I can set one up pretty quick then hand it over to you. I've been trying to help the family of a 26 year old that went missing in Pueblo CO in Aug; but my personal life has been busy. It will allow you to get his name & face back out there with hunting season over for the next 5 weeks. Also; tell your MIL to consider giving the news an interview; if she does that if there is a FB page; she should include that. I can't imagine how hard the holidays have been for everyone.

That man who murdered his daughter in law, or whoever she was, and then disappeared into Bear Mountain-Harriman State Park, in the autumn of 2012, they never found him either did they?

I may have time in the near future to go back out again and look. The problem is I believe they did a really good job searching in that area and all I would be doing would be going back over what has already been searched.
