    Picnic

Yeah, can you? Calico Ridge is on the way to Martha. It is not a picnic area and there are no tables and I'm sure we would not be able to grill. Sound good so far? It is a high ridge on the Oswego River where there used to be a tree swing. I haven't swam there in years but I...

Program seeks to help those who are lost

""New Jersey State Rangers are police officers," he said. "People misconstrue us with the guy who's on "Yogi Bear." We're a multifacted unit, involved with search and rescue, wildlife issues and many other things," he said." There lies the problem. Steve

A very short day in the pines today

I had found that along Tuckerton Rd about a year or so ago. It was laying on the side of the road. I told Guy about it and he dug a hole and set it in even though it does not belong there. Someone had probably found it and was going to take it but changed their mind. Steve

Giant waterfall discovered in California national park

Not much a hiker can do to ruin a waterfall. Not too many people will visit a waterfall that remote and I think the ones that do will be respectful. Steve

    "Thru-hiking" the Batona

Too many to name here. Just about any place has someting to offer. Of course bogs, swamps and savannas offer the best scenery. I wouldn't reccomend going on your own though as you can get into some hairy situations. I also wouldn't reccomend going off trail this time of year. I got chiggered on...
