Lost in Time: The Forked River Mountains

I was mistaken about the map. The following two dots are places I would like to get to. I do not imagine the southern one to be much of an issue. The northern one on the other side of the water is the one I have been asking about. It is unclear to me if the roads are driveable and now...

Possible to get lost in N.J.? - You bet

Another newspaper article about this. The Press did not report that one of the girls was airlifted to AC.

Lost in Time: The Forked River Mountains

More or less that is where I want to get to. The signs indicate not to drive down there or that one cannot be there at all?

Lost in Time: The Forked River Mountains

I do not know. The topo does not indicate it's a road. Mapsend shows no linkage to the area. The aerial shows something, but is that water? I cannot tell.

Lost in Time: The Forked River Mountains

I honestly do not know. I placed a link in my previous post. Perhaps we posted over each other. This is the area. If that is not what is needed (Terraserver), please let me know. I could create a rough track of what I am thinking of doing and post it somewhere if that would be helpful.

Lost in Time: The Forked River Mountains

Sorry about that. Here is the area. Longridge Rd. is the road which travels from the West link to the North link. Another unnamed road then travels SW to the south side of Middle Branch. At that point there appears to be a loop. It is the loop I wish to get to.

Lost in Time: The Forked River Mountains

Thank you kindly. Lots of good stuff there. I understand that FRM WMA is pretty expansive. I am looking to get to an area near the GSP wedged in the Middle Branch on a loop. Looking at the topo as well as aerials and road maps, it looks like one could drive there or at least near there...

    Batsto Trails

Is this the trail that heads up to Constable Bridge? I seem to recall orange and yellow for that.

Lost in Time: The Forked River Mountains

I just read the article chronicling the exploration of FRM. I know there have been some changes to this web site and that will explain this, but the links to the photographs are broken. I am interested in these and was wondering if someone could help me locate those photographs. Thank you.

    The Great Swamp

Interestingly, I tried to get there yesterday too. I did not fare well. My first attempt in was on West Mill Rd. I did not get very far before a large puddle turned me around. I then went down Rockwood. I had never been past the fork before. I didn't make it much further than the fork as...

    Batona Trail

Those are nice maps, Bob. Thanks. I guess I'll just have to walk the entire trail to get a track. There is a track exchange server for TOPO!, but surprisingly, no one has posted the Batona. Mostly North Jersey trails are listed. Thanks!

    Batona Trail

Exactly! I was kind of hoping someone may have already done the hard work. The track would be best, but if all that one has is an electronic map, that would be a start. I appreciate it.

    Batona Trail

I hope this is the proper forum in which to ask this. Does anyone have a track of the entire Batona Trail that could be shared? A TOPO! track would be fine as would most formats. I think I can convert from most.

    Cumberland furnace

Sigh . . . I can hear the announcers in my house when the air show goes on (let alone feeling like I am in downtown Baghdad when the jets buzz the house). For one weekend out of the year, that is tolerable. The thought of that kind of noise weekly is disturbing. But the concern for a...

    Batsto Fireline Rd

I will look up Lock's Bridge. I am familiar with the trail on the eastern side of the Mullica. No vehicles are allowed through there. Do you think, in waders, one can cross the Mullica somewhere around halfway down that trail? I can't recall how deep things are, but I figure it can't be too...

    Batsto Fireline Rd

Each time I have been to Constable Bridge, I have hiked in from Batsto. I have been informed that if I turn in off of 542, before the entrance to the Visitor's Center, I can drive there. On a map I am looking at that road is called Mullica River Rd. Sometime before the bridge, that road is...

    North of Nash's Cabin

You are more confident of me getting back there than I am. It was April when I was there. I recall thinking I could drive to Jessie Evans area. Nash's is about two miles from there. I recall that being a road I wouldn't be able to make. Perhaps I can. We'll see. I was going to hike in...

    North of Nash's Cabin

I am looking at Mapsend's map in the area of Nash's Cabin. I've been there once. As I recall, we drove in from the south on Martha Road to Nash's Cabin Road. If we didn't turn off onto Nash's Cabin Road, how far and how travelable is Martha Road? It looks as though Shamong gets up into...
