8am briefing has snow totals up a bit, worst part for us will probably be the winds after the snow. Offshore wave heights forecast up to 25 feet, NWS has sent out a hurricane hunter plane. Philly is having a big problem with frozen water mains.

Lots of details in the NWS discussion;

There's a strong tendency to focus on the snow amounts, but please keep in mind the bitter cold and very low wind chills which follow this storm. It may literally be the worst you've ever seen. Err on the side of caution.

I went to a local oil company and he suggested I pour this into the tank and mix it the best I can with a stick or something. Ideally, it would have been premixed with the oil on the truck, prior to delivery or put into the tank before they filled it, but me doing it this way will have to do.

I really don't have much if a choice at this point.

This is the last forecast I'm going to look at for this storm. Every time a look, it gets worserer ;) Big Orange is now sitting at the ready in the garage instead of way out in the shed.

Definitely nasty out there! Hard to tell how much we have because of the drifting, measured 7 inches in one spot. Don't doubt that there will be a foot or more by the time it stops this afternoon. But the wind is going to keep blowing for the next couple days, and with the low temperatures I'm sure it will continue to drift.

Good day to stay inside with a nice fire in the stove. :)
