Slide 24--1973. There are a few slides in here that would be obscure to anyone, even with the name of the road on it. I won't bother showing those. However, this one I think I might have figured it out without looking at the name (maybe). Anyway, I feel confident Ted or Guy might have a clue regarding this road.

Jessica says it is the red road. She may be correct. To me it looks like the road from Bullock to 539 but I don't think there was a field like that along it.

You are indeed correct. Well done! Your assumption beat mine. I thought at first it was the road behind the sand plant by Bamber.

This road is called Bloody Ridge Road.

Ben's map shows it as that plus Webb's Mill Road.

I spent quite a bit of time on that road back then, and here is a photo taken close by there. Any guesses? Developed 8/78.

The curve where Guy put the pin on the map is very sandy and you can lose control if you hit it going fast. Guy's photo looks like the pit closest to Rt. 72 and Savoy Blvd.

Sorry Tom, it is not a pit. Hint, look near my pointer.

Yes. it is one of the two by my pointer. I have to admit I have not been there to check which one and will do that as soon as I am in the area.

It is definitely in the Greenwood Forest to the west of Route 539, not far from the highest elevation in the Pine Barrens.

I guarantee I know that location. We discussed this recently.

Yes, and there is a strange twist to this one. The slide is dated May 1973 and is written, "fire tower off 539". Obviously they meant "really" off 539 and not "next to" 539.

I feel her pain. I never knew how to describe the location of that tower to put on a slide.

Here is a rare shot Guy...I had to clean it up a lot. This is the same tower from the Forked River Mountains.

Nice shot! The one I have is not as close. I was in a tree with the normal lens and not a zoom.
