Not the blue hole, but something like it

So will you tell us what it was?

Shipwrecks and the remains of the wharf at Herman City

LOTS of juvenile fish and cone snails, horseshoe crabs, starfish, sponges and barnacles. I tend to like the teeny things, the little tiny blennies that hide in crevices and shrimp. The RR bridge is covered and teeming with life. If you are a macro photographer, it's a great spot. I went there...

Shipwrecks and the remains of the wharf at Herman City

Finding them wasn't a problem! I went out on several dives but the boat captain would never let me dive because I tend to pass out when I am seasick. I am a champeen puker! Last time I went out, I almost made it, I stood up to walk toward the edge of the boat when I passed out cold...

Shipwrecks and the remains of the wharf at Herman City

Ed, that is really cool, I didn't know there were other divers here. I am very envious of your dive adventures in NJ. I've made many attempts to see some of the wrecks here but have never succeeded, I am sorry to say, because of my little seasick problem.

    Square concrete boxes

That makes sense. One has to maintain one's sense of decorum and all. :)

How the heck did these get here?

And shipments are checked for insects and plant/animal materials that can be infective, and pretty carefully. It's obviously not a fool proof system though. Dutch elm disease was accidentally introduced via some lumber. It's just becoming a smaller world, and a local problem is more and more...

Loading 2 different maps in a Garmin?

Well, we have the Garmin 60 CSX, that will let you navigate and you can also take it hiking. It's just about the most versatile GPS I know of. It does not talk though, it just beeps when it prompts you for a turn so you remember to look at it. It's a great GPS for the money...

Loading 2 different maps in a Garmin?

That totally depends on what functions you are looking for. Do you want one to hike with, one to navigate in the car with? Both? One that talks?

Loading 2 different maps in a Garmin?

We do the same thing with our 60CSX. The topo maps rock! You just have to remember to turn back on the city map when navigating or the thing tends to have a brain seizure.

    Snow Hike

I would say the same thing of root canal and fingernail extractions, but then again, I am sorta math phobic. :)

Lookit the ferreeets! How cute that they love the snow. I would have thought they'd be too chilly!

How the heck did these get here?

According to epidemiologists, it is thought to be due principally to the increase in passenger travel.

    First snow!

Its been snowing here all day. No accumulation to speak of, but it still puts a spring in my step. Life is good. :)

How the heck did these get here?

I am picturing a car full of rodent tails. It's a long drive. Do you have air conditioning? This does not surprise me. We are seeing tick-borne and other diseases, insects and birds that are creeping north. Some link that to global climate change. I can't argue with that hypothesis.
