Yes, I am going with turtle. Not sure if it's a snapping turtle though. It's hard to tell from that angle, but it looks like it has a blunter head than a snapper. If it were the Jersey Devil, it would probably be a lot bigger. :)

With the warm weather and with the oven on full blast all day yesterday, my house was like a sauna. We had to put the AC on at around dinnertime, we all would have wilted and passed out if we hadn't.

The mortality was apparently relatively low this year. If hunters are noticing a lower deer population, it might be to local mortality and perhaps they'd have better luck at other sites. The disease will abruptly stop spreading now that we've had cold weather. Hopefully we won't get a bigger...
