My husband just bought me this book:

I wish I had time to read it! Perhaps after both ski season and this semester are over.
Sorry about Chicken, Largo.
I was just thinking that a fox would not be so bold to go after a housecat, those things are pointy! Seriously, I would think that a fox would risk too much injury trying to kill a cat. I guess not!
Wow, will a fox prey on cats? I know coyotes commonly prey on them, but never considered that foxes will, too. That's pretty bold of them, cats are pretty formidable. You learn something new every day.
Better keep my cats in. :(
Rabies can infect any mammal, even a mouse. It's not the biggest danger out there, but it's always something to keep in mind. I had a rabid groundhog in my driveway when I lived in Upper Freehold township back in the early 90s.
My husband Joe does Geek-squad type work, only he doesn't charge an arm and a leg and he gives actual customer service. :) If you need help, I can give you his number.
Edit: I missed the last post here. Glad you worked it out. :)
Yeah, cranberries get several species of worms that eat both berries and plants, including gypsy moths. I think they can also get weevils. I think the most common insect pests are the type that can be contolled with baculovirus, a virus that kills a narrow spectrum of worms (so that it won't...
I always thought this was an interesting assertion. Every species has a purpose to benefit what? Us?
It's all a matter of fitting into a niche. I wouldn't say every species has a purpose, but I would say that they're around because they've found a way to survive, grow and reproduce.
