Crews Battling Wildfire Along Mullica River in South Jersey’s Wharton State Forest

Well yeah, things are tough to know when the tax maps are so dicked up you can't figure out who owns it. If I were Guvner, I'd do an emergency order to open the woods up to the citizens. We own 'em, we should be able to use 'em.

Still Trying To Solve Issues With My Car One Year Later

Ben, that photo in your portofolio with the gulls at the shore really blew me away. A stunningly good photo.

Why New Jersey and Oregon still don't let you pump your own gas

I hate the check out at BJ's. It's like you can't make a move without the sharp womens voice haranguing you; "SWIPE YOUR BJ'S CARD! DID YOU LOOK UNDER YOUR CART! MOVE YOUR STUFF OFF THE BELT! PUT THE COUPONS IN THE SLOT!.....and on and on. Now Walmart is a different story....you swipe, it says...

    Forked River Mountains in 2022

You did the right thing. As TommyP says, there has to be a better solution than closing the long-established roads.

    Forked River Mountains in 2022

Considering your cautious way of driving (which I did not adopt until 5 years ago-finally!), I'd go now while things are relatively dry. If the gate on Lacey road is still open, use "A", if not, use "B". I have to add I'm not endorsing driving there if the county decided to close it down to...

I wound not say that. I had an idea; the state should simply plow a road right next to it on their land.

Yes, the squeaky wheel often gets the grease. But that petition should have carried a lot of weight. An update is certainly warranted.

    Forked River Mountains in 2022

I'd try it if I were you. That's a good vehicle. But not if the puddles are full. Where are you coming from, and where do you want to go?

If anybody on this forum would like to ask the state what is the status on that petition to force Hammonton to open that West Mill road, please do so. If any of you seriously would consider asking, I can get you the particulars. You'd have to write them a letter and ask for a response.

The flies may eat you alive this time of year if the conditions are right for them. Just be prepared for that.

The back fires (where they are) will definitley promote some important plant growth in the great swamp, if they are hot enough. I would suppose though, since the vegetation is green from new growth, that this is not the usual scorching hot fire.

It looks like, in your link Scott, that somebody just drove down 206 and was somehow starting fires as they drove?

Why New Jersey and Oregon still don't let you pump your own gas

Headlines always say: "New Jersey is one of two states where you can't pump your own gas". The headline should read: "NJ citizens are lucky, they have their gas pumped into their car for them. And it keeps about 8,000 people employed".

Why New Jersey and Oregon still don't let you pump your own gas

If you make it optional, that will likely last about 3 months. The employees will be let go, and we'll all have to get out and pump ourselves. Authorities are not going to go after the gas stations that have too few employees to provide timely service.

Webbs Mill flooded since July 22nd

The state installed a beaver-deceiver, and after some glitches, it has been working. I've not been there in about 3(?) weeks, so if you find it blocked, please let me know.

Why New Jersey and Oregon still don't let you pump your own gas

That 101.5 radio station has their hosts continually push it, despite most of us not wanting it. I don't want it because sometimes I drive naked from the waist down.

68-year-old man has been missing for 11 days, cops say

They don't even tell you if they put the dogs on the scent. He could smell the car seat and be off and running. By the way, I'm sure some of you have, but I have never heard of a dog finding somebody...except maybe on Cool Hand Luke.
