    Trail Maps

I like ExpertGPS for the PC. You can plot your routes and waypoints on a USGS or aerial background and then load them into your GPS. I store all my waypoints, routes and tracks for later use. It’s easy to copy and paste data to other files so you upload only the data you need in the field. And...

Trip Report - Oswego Back 40

Hello All, Now that it’s hiking season again (at least for me :)), I’d like to take some pictures of the bones and post them here to try and find out what they are from. If anyone has a saved waypoint of the bones or a gpx file with a track they would want to share, it would be much...

    CNJ tracks at Pasadena Road

It would be nice to see sand trains run again and take some of the trucks off the road. They tried reviving that portion of the line for a short time in the late 80’s.

    Haines Bank Cave?

I’ve heard that story before, a long time ago. The only high “bank” that I know of in the Medford area is south of Rt 70 near the Haines Run Apartments. When I was a kid my friends and I went down the stream in a rowboat and never found anything like a cave. There’s also an area across...

Need some info for a book

About 10 years ago a Medford women and her friend killed her husband/boyfriend after bailing him out of jail and dumped his body off of Route 206 south of Atsion. The body was found by hunters.

    Interesting Stats for February

I think I’m responsible for most of the hits. I like the new banner photos so much that I keep hitting the refresh button hoping to see them all and trying to figure out where the locations are.:) Roy

    Widlife Management Area Milestone

Also they’re responsible for Green Acres properties. Last year they added at lease a 1000 acres that I’m familiar with and most if not all of it was going to be taken care of by Fish & Wildlife. It looks like they will be spread a lot thinner as time goes on. Roy

    Hiking partner

Trenton can’t give money away fast enough, both R’s and D’s, and they’ve been balancing the budget the last bunch of years with one time fixes. Unfortunately Piney Boy is correct. Sorry for the soapbox. Roy

J.D Scott's Atlas, c.1876 and the pemberon Railroad museum

It is the same atlas. I bought my copy as Buzbys also. It’s an excellent reproduction of the original. Roy

Favorite time to go to the pines?

I have to agree. For on-trail hiking I like September to June. For bush-whacking I like it 40 degrees or lower. Roy

    Snow in the Pines

Thanks, I use an Olympus C-750 with the outdoor setting. I also use Photoshop Elements for color correction otherwise the photos get a little washed out and dull with all the snow. After taking the photo on the dam I had to turn around and go near the General Store to warm up out of the wind...

    Snow in the Pines

Hello All, I've uploaded a few photos from the snowfall Sunday morning: http://forums.njpinebarrens.com/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=373 It wasn't deep but it was pretty. The photos don't do it justice. Roy

    This weather...

I think I’ve made it even warmer by buying a snow blower this week. This year there’s a good selection because everybody’s in the pines.
