    State OKs bear hunt

My wife and I were just up at the Water Gap the other day. I know she would have died and I would have soiled myself if we saw a bear. On the subject of bears, what’s the status of bears in the Pinelands. Have there been any confirmed sightings?:bear: Roy

    trollie car graveyard?

They are in Jobstown next to the old railroad right-of-way. The site was to be a trolley museum in the 60’s or 70’s but the locals didn’t like it. Before that they were near Berlin. After Jobstown I think most of the equipment was move to Philly and ran near Penns Landing. The remaining...

    Searching For Commissioner Stones

Nice find… was there a B on the other side? The good thing about it being buried is that it won’t end up in someone’s private collection. Roy

Air National Guard airfield on Route 72

Hello All, Does anyone know if the Air National Guard airfield on Route 72 is used by the military anymore? Today I was passing by and there was a blue four wheel drive pickup with a light bar (off road type) and white U.S. Government plate next to the dirt access road east of the fenced...

    Good luck or bad luck?

I’ve seen a couple of signs also. One is a forest fire sign in the Atsion area, the other is a watch for children sign on a little backwoods road with some ruins nearby. I think that one was in Bass River S.F.

    Good luck or bad luck?

Hello All I was tramping through the woods the other week and found this horseshoe being devoured by the tree. I hope it was only bad luck to the person who nailed it to the tree and not anyone who finds it! I wonder how long it's been there? My guess is twenty years. Roy

    Another Hanover Stone Found

Those old deeds can be pretty good but most of the time they are hundreds of feet off (extreme case) by time you get back to the beginning point. In the old days, the marker was the corner and the bearing and distance was a guide for the surveyor to help him to get from one point to the next...

    Tulpehawking Tract

I don’t agree with that based on walking the site. The remaining portion of the dam is too narrow for a road and runs into higher ground. There would be some remains of a road along the hill side. During the recent low water I found what look like a bridge abutment with wing walls down...
