    Spring so far:

I just thought some wouldn't open. I'd really like to see the ringneck pic.

Don't make me go to the web cam.

    Thanks Ben

I hate to admit I just wasted about 25 minutes watching those rants. I only watched the first one for 5 minutes but I watched the entire second one hoping to get a mention for sucking up to the French guy. Time to go kayaking for a bit. Keep up the good work Ben.

    Our Vanishing Past

I wouldn't bet my rubber foot on it but I think that's the book all right. Good find Ben. That book brings back some fond memories of being the class history geek. That may be the first text book that I liked so much that I read ahead of the class.

    Catching up on some photos

Great pics Dragon! That definitely is one lucky green snake. They were always one of my favorite finds of all the snakes I "caught" as a kid. Ranks right up there with the Ringnecks. The baby King snake is beautiful too. One of the few I've never seen in the wild. Do they lose the stripes...

Cannonball death raises concerns over relics hunting

I know it was the prudent thing to do, rolling them back in the water but I would have wanted to take one home. I know, I'm an idiot but that's just the history lover in me.

    Our Vanishing Past

I don't exactly remember what the book looked like but I do seem to remember it teaching a lot about the revolution. This was around 1973. I do know we took a trip to the Old Barracks in Trenton that year. I thought it was great to learn about the history and then to actually go and see it...

    Our Vanishing Past

It's a shame that schools don't teach NJ history like they used to. I remember being taught NJ history from a wonderful text book in the fourth grade. When I learned how involved that NJ was in this countrys beginnings and just how close these events happened to me, I was hooked for life...

    Elvis Sighting

Just remember that if it's you and Elvis heading for the spot-o-pot and you really gotta go, beat him to it at all costs.

Outdoor recreation is on a decline...

I couldn't agree with you more Jeff. I love the looks I get when I suggest reading a book whenever I hear a kid say they are bored. Whenever my buddy tells his son we are going hiking and I ask him if he wants to go (if he happens to be down getting a snack from playing WOW)and he looks at...

    Some pics

Al, I hear ya about using the middle fingers. Gotta love NJ! I used to be an amazingly fast two finger guy and then my keyboard crapped out on me. I went from a natural keyboard that I had for about 7 years to a regular one and you talk about hitting two keys at once. Felt like I was...

    Our Vanishing Past

Did anyone see "Our Vanishing Past" on NJN last night? Great show about how so many historic buildings in NJ are being torn down and the attempts to preserve them. I thought it was a well done show even if they only spent about 5 minutes talking about the Atsion and Batsto. Just goes to...

    Thanks Ben

I just finished reading the endings of LIP's stay on this forum. After reading that, I want to take the time to thank Ben and Guy for the fine job they do here. Being relatively new here, I don't exactly know how the hierarchy works here but I must say, it works and it works well. This forum...

Cannonball death raises concerns over relics hunting

I wonder how big a 75 pounder looks. Seems huge to me but I assume those shells were pretty dense. Luckily his wife and son weren't there helping.

    Online Photos

Thanks Woody. I'm trying out photobucket at the moment but I'm having trouble with the privacy thing. Whenever I try to send a certain album along with a password, it allows access to all of my pics. I'll figure it out eventually with the help of the photobucket forum. Thanks for the...

    Online Photos

Thanks Boyd, I definitely need a user friendly site right now. I'm in the process of loading some pics on photobucket which looks like a nice site but a little confusing as to how to show one album without people seeing every pic I have. I'll figure it out eventually. Jay
