This weekend at Parvin SP there will be what I thibk is a good chance to have two good deeds put in the ledger. There's going to be an MS Walk on Sunday and I see that as a fine chance to spread the word about the BBSF rally and to help a good cause. The fine folks at Bel Haven Paddlesports...

I spent the a long weekend in SW Virginia along the Blue Ridge Parkway near the Peaks of Otter being support for a couple friends hiking the AT. While watching the weather, the weatherman refered to a region as the "mountain empire". I'm curious, wasn't there once an attempt to make this...
