There are so many 4 wheelers at High Crossing this noon I couldn't get near it. I had to find another way home. It's become the new party place, I've even seen camp fires there.

High Crossing north at 10:00 this morning. The guys said they had been there since 5:30. The pickup had 2wd and was just spinning its wheels. The owner tried to start his truck and it started wailing and didn't start. Someone asked him if he had an alarm and he replied "not that I know of".
By 12:00 on our return he was gone but I later saw it on the side of Carranza Road so I guess it didn't start. It was a big day out there for ice breaking.

It wasn't all that long ago that you could get down the main trail there in a car all the way down to wading pines campground no problem, but alot has changed there

It's been several years since I've traveled on High Crossing Road. Last time I went, I believe it was totally passable, especially for a stock 4x4. Is it no longer like that? From what I've read recently, there are a few spots that only the minority can now pass.

No, it is the first puddle north of the tracks at High Crossing. It is on Tuckerton Road. All of the photos I posted in this thread
are on that road. Todays photo was taken here.

Edited to further clarify:
Of the 6 roads that intersect at High Crossing, only the one heading west on the south side of the tracks is marked "no motorized vehicles". None of my posts in this thread were there including the video "Joey get's stuck at High Crossing".

I'm sure that RR wasn't out "mudding" for the day. I bet they sure they were surprised. Doesn't really look that deep, his axles must be hung up with his front tires in ruts.
Is that a winch cable scar on the large pine tree in the lower left corner?
It would be interesting to have a game camera positioned there with a LARGE memory chip.

If you've ever noticed a RR like this on the road, they really don't have much ground clearance. Yes, they're fully equipped to handle deep water, but on level/shallow surfaces. I have more ground clearance in my stock Tacoma than any of the RR's.
