Her truck woulda had 4 flats :clint:

Instead of just calling, consider filing a report with any pictures and the vehicle plate #. The authorities will then be obligated to follow up.

What I said the first 2 times :guinness:

Take good photos, identify the person and the vehicle, document as much as you can... especially if you really feel this person set "traps" to harm people. That's a dealbreaker kids, far beyond messing with that bridge. Maybe even strike a dialogue that will go in that direction.
All that done whomever is able, don't be threatening that's just plain stupid.
Maybe convey to her (if it is) that this is real and while you may share common interests and concerns, there are other ways and ultimately you've documented her, you want her to stop and will... pursue it with authorities.
That should put the bug in her mind. I would do it in a second all in the same breath to take her off guard. I love to engage effectively beyond the written word.Still, make sure speak candidly to a park authority you trust (there is a phenominal friend of the site that works for the state in that very capacity) and see the best course. In part you are covering you're own arse. Any thing else is just drama. Just my opinion.
Do with it what you will. Just me trying to be amicable all around.

I would also strongly urge you to present your information to the authorities, and, if you are so inclined, follow through with the authorities (rangers I presume) to make sure efforts were made to stop her.

I think you handled yourself very well and thought very clearly (taking pictures of license plate). This is a rare opportunity to make a dangerous person accountable for her actions.

I just hope that the outcome prevents her from continuing this kind of thing. Maybe seeing a picture of a 14 year old boy with a broken neck would change her mind...thinking of someone with her mindset is very frustrating.

What kind of mindset does this person have to think that she is doing nothing wrong, a serious injury can occur like others have stated.

She definitely needs help, and turning her in will get it for her.

Good question. What was her manner, Keith? Did she seem unbalanced? (not that it's always evident.) Any emotion? Did she seem concerned that you'd caught her?

Glo

She was not right, when I began to explain the possibilities of her actions she got that "look" . She started to tell me how "bikers" were destroying the woods, leaving trash, and "pornography of little girls being raped" everywhere. As we began to disagree she set her tools down, took two steps back and reached behind her back, under her jacket and I had the feeling she had her hand on something. I asked her how she would feel if someone was killed because of what she had done. She just shrugged and gave me a smug look.
She really believed that she was doing the right thing.
Anyway I have passed the info on to the park police and will follow up with them, if anything comes of it I will follow through and will keep you all posted.

Jessica and I, and especially Jessica has found pornography quite often in the pines, and none of it was anything other than what you could buy in the local stores that sells it. It seems to me she is seeing porno that just was not there.

Seems your person is a bit fanatical so I suppose my offering of a little diplomacy wouldn't work. At the least is seems you tried an appropriate approach and were met poorly. That said, you're still on the right track with part two. Notifying the right people and identifying a dangerous person.
Again, be well documented and cover your butt so nothing turns on you. Sadly enough, someone could accuse a good sized dude alone in the woods of some sort of intimidation or attack much easier than a woman and then you're on the chopping block.
I would say this to all you with kids. Don't confront this person or any other you suspect with your kids around you. Keep them in mind first at all times.
The same way you're thinking of them when you find some jerked off trap or spike set by some idiot and want it to stop.

Guy, may I suggest you edit out the pictures of the woman and dog walking? Many lurkers or surfers will not read far enough to know she isn't related to the problem.

Okay. I will remove it now.

do you have any more detail on the truck? we need to be sure that no one runs into her by mistake and something bad happens, like instead of you coming up to the bridge some kid did riding a bike! also it would be go to know if we see the truck what we might be running into up the trail....

I think I am going to see what the park police have to say about this before I post anymore details. I wouldn't want anyone taking the law into their own hands or giving some innocent person in a similar vehicle a hard time. As I said before I don't think the park police were very interested so any advice from members here on how to proceed would be welcome. If anyone has a connection in law enforcement let me know. We have a lot of members here and I know only a few. I would not want to be a part of any acts of revenge.
On the other hand I mentioned this site to the woman at the bridge, if she has logged on and realizes that a lot of folks are looking out for her it would likely put an end to her activities. If I post pics of her vehicle, it may open a legal can of worms for this site and for me. Any lawyers here?
